Here's the full story: Alex Pretti and the woman he was "defending," who has not been publicly named, were impeding traffic and harassing ICE agents. The woman was blowing a rape whistle into the ear of an officer, which is technically a form of assault. Both were escorted to the sidewalk, where Alex Pretti was recorded having a yelling match with an ICE officer. The media likes to use this moment on the sidewalk as the "inciting incident," cutting out the part where he and the woman were in the street harassing officers.
Walking to the sidewalk from the street, the woman continued to harass the officers with her whistle. The agitated officer then shoves the woman, which is where the media likes to press play. As officers begin to wrestle with the woman, Alex Pretti jumps in the way to stop the officer, continuing to aggravate the situation. An officer then pepper-sprayed him. He puts himself on top of the woman, continuing to block the officers from getting to her, and multiple officers pulled him off and wrestled Pretti to the ground. It is important to point out that the woman who was harassing the officer with the whistle in his ear was posing as a random American citizen who had been mistaken for an illegal immigrant. This was the first lie the media gave us.
The footage is difficult to analyze to determine exactly what happened from here, but there are known facts. Alex Pretti was resisting arrest. As he tries to sit back up, someone yells, “Gun!” The officer who ends up shooting Alex Pretti looks around, panicked, and takes a step back as he pulls out his gun. Alex Pretti then pulls something out (not identifiable from the footage) and jerks upward. At this point, a shot is heard. We can't tell from the footage if the shot came from the officer, from Alex Pretti, or elsewhere. The officer then shoots Alex Pretti in the back. A gun was found on Alex Pretti with a spare magazine, and he had a permit to conceal carry. The fact that he had a gun on him was not illegal. A physical altercation and resisting arrest is.
In the high-tension situations that protestors have put ICE officers in, the threat to their lives has left them all at risk all the time. It therefore could be argued that the officer heard “gun,” then a gunshot, saw a holster, and fired, feeling the pressure of the “threat.” Is it then reasonable to say that the officer felt threatened due to this combination of factors? The only remaining detail then, is where the origin of the first shot came from. It seems likely, and this is only speculation, that the first shot was a misfire. This misfire could have come from either Alex Pretti or the officer. We really don’t know.
The media loves to highlight how wonderful a man Alex Pretti was, as quoted by his peers, but this is irrelevant. It might have been true, but he was also a troublemaker. As it turns out, strangely admitted by CNN, this wasn’t Alex Pretti’s first altercation with ICE officers. Earlier in January, Alex Pretti reportedly stopped his car after observing federal agents chasing what he described as a family on foot. He began shouting at the agents and blowing a whistle to draw attention or protest the action. This led to a confrontation where Pretti was physically engaged with the agents, so much so that Pretti suffered a broken rib as a result. So while Alex Pretti may have been a good guy around those he liked, he had a proven track record of being a troublemaker with ICE.
In footage that recently came out about Pretti's incident a week or so prior, he appears to be attempting to entice the ICE officers into an altercation as he yells directly into their face, "Assault me, motherf**ker!" While this doesn't justify his death, it does demonstrate his unstable nature. A lot of liberals have made accusations of this event being an execution with some officers gleefully clapping at Pretti's death. To that same token, we can also argue that given the evidence, Pretti was looking for an excuse to use his firearm on an ICE officer and needed the justification. Of course, this can't be proven without doing a deep dive into his personal life and psyche, but it would explain why, and if, he truly had jerked up from the ground and pulled out his gun before being shot, with the intent of shooting as many ICE officers as he could. This theory can't be proven, but it seems more likely than ICE officers executing a random citizen for fun.
There has yet to be an actual incident where an ICE officer shoved or tried to arrest someone peacefully protesting on the sidewalk or legal area. Because of this, the media and liberal politicians feel the need to manufacture false information about these incidents, purposely lying to you. Why? Because it is the only weapon they have to take down the man they hate for exposing their own fraud. It’s always about money.
